When these homeowners and I first met, everything described was cottage-style and this design-style was a perfect fit! The house, built on a lake in Northern Minnesota, has an airy coastal feel – which is ideal for a lake house.
Calm, cool, beachy colors give the coastal feel, but it’s not overdone so it feels out of place (like it belongs on the West Coast). A piece of driftwood was the inspiration for the wood-tones in the flooring and copper is an excellent accent color for a added pizzazz.
Vacation days spent in this Lake Home are lazy and comfortable – as they should be.
These homeowners were a joy to work with. They had ideas about what they wanted and were also open to new ideas. I believe it shows in the end product.
